Swing Control was one of the apparel companies I connected with at this year’s PGA Show in Orlando. Their booth was hopping and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to talk with my friend Josh Mark, who is their brand manager. Fortunately Josh was able to show me the fabulous new items in their 2023 collection and tell me what’s planned for the future. BTW, if you haven’t seen it yet, green is one of the hottest colors for this spring and Swing Control has it!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Swing Control, they are a Canadian company founded in 1979. You may be asking why you haven’t seen them until recently. Initially they specialized in high-end privatewomen’s pants. In 2016, they decided to expand on their original brand of Swing Control and create a women’s-only bottoms collection. This has now expanded to be a full line of shorts, shorts, pants, capris, dresses, tops, vests and more. They are now offering men’s apparel, as well.
There are several key features that make Swing Control a favorite of mine to wear. Foremost, they have a tummy control factor in all their bottoms. I mean real tummy control. Where I can actually tuck in a shirt and not worry about my stomach sticking out. Who knew?! Second, all of their pants are pull up. They use great technical fabrics that stretch so there is no fighting with zippers or buttons. Finally, they have mastered the combination of golf style and lifestyle clothing — clothing that can go anywhere. Numerous lines make the apres golf claim but not all pull it off.
I’ve worn their Master Solid Golf Pant several times now. I can’t seem to get enough of them. They are made of a luxurious Ponte stretch fabric, making them great for the cool spring days. Swing Control has succeeded in combining great fit with great fabric, essentially creating arguably the PERFECT GOLF PANT. I could wear them everywhere because they look that good. They have washed up easily – no iron needed. I recommend following their care instructions and DO NOT put into the dryer. (I don’t condone the use of the dryer for anything if you want your clothing to last and look good.)
I have a few pairs of Their ankle pant in both the butterfly print and the Xray print (above) which I’ll start wearing when the weather warms a little more. I believe their sizing runs a bit larger than what most of us are used to but I’m ok with going down a size.
I’m loving their tops, especially their new Bamboo Long Sleeve Hoodie (the fabric is like butter). The Cloud Bomber Jacket is my new favorite outer layer! All their tops are equally impressive – well-fitting and stylish incorporating great technical fabrics that wick and have odor control. Again, I would recommend sizing down one for the best fit on their tops.
