A good friend of mine named My suggested to me some time ago that I should put on an invitational here in Las Vegas for women — friends and women golfers who read my blog posts nationally. When we talked about it, we knew that Vegas would be a great location to host such an event to help promote the game of women’s golf.
Here I am, roughly a year later, putting this out into the universe. With the support of my husband and editor, as well as great friends and amazing sponsors, we are hosting the inaugural THE WOMAN GOLFER LAS VEGAS INVITATIONAL here in Las Vegas, November 6-8, 2023.
This event will be about quality, not quantity. Space will be limited to 72 participants. It won’t be the biggest, but I guarantee you, it will be the best…
Fabulous daily tee gifts, plenty of great food, an opening reception after the practice round, trunk show, live entrainment, overall cash prizes for gross and net in each flight, as well as prizes for closest to the pin and a chance to win a Mercedes Benz SUV all await, and did I say FABULOUS tee gifts?!? And of course, you’ll be hanging with your bestie and make new ones in the process. And I know I don’t have to say this but I can’t resist — who doesn’t love Vegas?!?
For those of you flying or driving to Las Vegas, I’ve arranged blocks of discounted rooms at the JW Marriott Resort and at the SunCoast Casino/Resort — limited availability — overlooking the course we’re playing. You’ll be just 20 minutes from The Strip and across the street from top restaurants you can walk to. Come early, stay late, and most of all, enjoy your time here in Las Vegas.
Women like us are now driving the growth of golf so it makes sense to invest in the future and pass along a portion of the tournament’s revenue in support of these junior girls matches. The matches, which began in 1978, are a team golf tournament that encourages “sportsmanship, friendship, personal growth and development of young women golfers” from the Western US states, Hawaii, Canadian provinces and Mexico. Girls make connections so they can play collegiately through these matches and more than few have become professionals.
The entry fee of $895 per player covers your green fees for three days, cart, range balls, the opening reception, breakfast and lunch for both tournament rounds, your amazing tee gifts, flight payouts and donation.
The competition format is two-person best ball net, flighted by handicap. Players must have a GHIN Index and have posted five rounds in calendar year 2023. The maximum differential between partners is a course handicap of 10 strokes. Highest score allowed on a hole will be net triple bogey. We will have a skins game the day of the practice round (Monday, November 6). Many more details to follow!
Dunning, the official apparel sponsor of the International Crown and Solheim Cup, Taylor Jordan, 70Degrees, KT Tape, Bonjoc Ball Markers, Martini Golf Tees, TecTecTec!, Lee’s Discount Liquor, Rodney Strong Wines, Mercedes Benz, Keller Williams and more that will soon be announced!
The Woman Golfer Las Vegas Invitational is dedicated to answering your questions to ensure the most exciting tournament. Our FAQ will be updated to include any new questions frequently asked by players.
